Armenian EyeCare Project is the author of this educational platform. It is created in the framework of the Armenian National Diabetes Strategy and Diabetic Blindness Prevention Project ), financed by the World Diabetes Foundation.

Here you can find all necessary information about the specifics of conservative treatment of diabetes, diet, hygiene and physical activities.

Caregivers have opportunity to receive CME credits granted by the Armenian Ministry of Health upon passing the tests which are based on educational handbooks authored by the Armenian EyeCare Project.

EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM FOR MEDICAL PERSONNEL

The Armenian EyeCare Project and the World Diabetes Foundation have been working together since 2017. The first project implemented in collaboration aimed to prevent blindness from diabetic retinopathy and other diabetes-related eye diseases in Armenia. Over the course of three years, 52,836 people were screened throughout Armenia. Of these, 16,000 people underwent diabetes retinopathy photo imaging with portable fundus cameras, and 9,257 were diagnosed with some stage of Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) or Diabetic Macular Edema (DME). Additionally, more than 1,200 medical staff members, including ophthalmologists, endocrinologists, family medicine doctors, and health point nurses, received professional and/or public education training. As a result of this project, 1,229 DR and DME laser treatments were implemented, and more than 300 cataract surgeries were performed for people with diabetes.

«Հայկական ակնաբուժության նախագիծ» բարեգործական հիմնադրամը (ՀԱՆ) ամերիկահայ ակնաբույժ Ռոջեր Օհանեսյանի կողմից ԱՄՆ-ում 1992թ. հիմնադրված բարեգործական կազմակերպություն է, որի հայաստանյան գրասենյակը ստեղծվել է 2002թ.-ին:
